The A-Leagues All Stars Women play Chelsea at Allianz Stadium on Wednesday night, closing the 2026 Sydney Super Cup with a 7.45pm kick off.
It is only the second match an All Stars Women side has played. The first was against Arsenal in 2024, in front of more than 42,000.
Jeff Hopkins, head coach at Melbourne Victory, was appointed to the All Stars job in March and has named 18 players. Melbourne Victory defender Kayla Morrison captains the side. Melissa Barbieri and Maruschka Waldus are his assistants, with Claire Coelho on goalkeepers.
Melbourne City supplied the most players with five: Karly Roestbakken, Rebekah Stott, Leticia McKenna, Shelby McMahon and Aideen Keane. Wellington Phoenix have four in Brooke Nunn, Grace Jale, Pia Vlok and Makala Woods. Brisbane Roar and Melbourne Victory have three apiece, and Sydney FC, Western Sydney Wanderers and Newcastle Jets one each, in Mackenzie Hawkesby, Talia Younis and Melina Ayres.
Chelsea confirmed a 26 player travelling squad on 2 August. Ellie Carpenter, who joined the club from Lyon, comes home with it. So do Hannah Hampton, Lucy Bronze, Keira Walsh, Lauren James, Erin Cuthbert, Naomi Girma and Katie McCabe.
Sam Kerr is not touring. When the fixture was announced in December, Chelsea's trip was promoted around Kerr and Carpenter returning to Australia together. Kerr moved to Gotham FC in June, six weeks before the squad list came out.
The men's leg of the tournament is already done. Chelsea beat Western Sydney Wanderers 6-4 at Accor Stadium on 28 July in front of 50,000. Tottenham beat Sydney FC 4-2 on penalties at Allianz the following night after a 1-1 draw, with 26,216 through the gates. Tottenham then beat Chelsea 2-1 back at Accor on 1 August, watched by 80,363, the biggest crowd of the series.
Chelsea are eight time Women's Super League champions and arrive mid pre-season, which is the usual caveat on a touring side in August. The All Stars have the opposite problem. They are a squad assembled from nine clubs for one match, with no competitive fixtures behind them as a unit.
Kick off is 7.45pm AEST at Allianz Stadium. It closes the Super Cup, and it is the only match this All Stars side will play together.
